What is wrong with this picture?
I just noticed something in the picture posted yesterday that I hadn't notice before; something is significantly not as it should be in that photo. Can you spot it? Those of you with military service under your belt will get it right away.

Is it that his uniform is completely devoid of insignia? That's interesting. I wonder if there's something else more obvious that I'm missing.

I had not noticed that before, but yes, no insignia of anykind whatsoever. He was in a Signal Corps. Unit that did not exist, apparently.
He really was issued a cyanide capsule. Pop said he threw it away at the first opportunity because he knew he would probably use it if captured!
